Now many lectures of Ivy league including this are available online at: http://v.163.com/open/ with Chinese and English subtitles. So many white collars in Beijing gets up early every day with the objective of listening to courses now. I'm still in Beijing and will land in Mel after spring festival. I have the intention to reinforce my English before that and I find this. I'm really touched by the content of the courses and would like to share with you all.

Thanks. Actually I enjoy very much of Happiness provided by Harvard. We just don't know happiness could be learned then have. It is in the area of positive psychology. The lecturer is so amazing. I love solide evidences he presented and the fierce passion towards his work. I benefit a lot and can't wait any more to share.作者: Options 时间: 29-1-2011 20:08 标题: Some thoughts regarding Open Yale course- listen to music Waiting outside of my boy’s Weiqi class this afternoon, I go through the open course provided by Yale on listening to music. The course has been advocated on web for some time and today I have the chance.
I choose the topic of instruments and genre. It starts from the introduction of symphony with the example of Beethoven’s fifth. As we know, symphony has four movements. One movement is an independent piece. Four Movements are independent respectively and also complementary to express the special sense with one another. The first movement usually is a fast open, followed by a slower and lyrical second. The third is always derived from dance and the finale is a fast and emphatic conclusion to correspond the first. When I listen to Beethoven’s fifth this time, I could feel my emotional journey aroused. I’m affected! I’ve listened to it for so many times since childhood but haven’t felt it before. And the most interesting thing happens afterwards and really surprises me. I open up the slide decks we did in November for World Pneumonia Day event and ask myself: what is the short, four notes motif of the topic to draw the attention of public as it should be? Do we illustrate the theme as clear as possible with longer 32 notes? Although the fact is so negative and serious, do we introduce the high pitch trumpet as it is although still weak to provide hope and urge of actions to audience when ending?
My questions today are not related with tedious data we deal with everyday but making the data alive. Now I agree with a friend’s idea, music even novel is a design. My work is a sort of design too. We are the same as human being but we express ourselves in different ways. Profession is a format and it shouldn’t be the boundary to limit our imagination and pursuing for complete person.
