1. The first reason why you shouldn’t use DragonSea China service
[THEY STEAL YOUR BELONGINGS]
The waiting period before the delivery is painful for anyone. You just arrived in a new place overseas, yet have no household items. But you can have excitement of imagining the delivery of your cherished possessions. Ah, finally the delivery was made. Time for celebration. The two healthy young guys came to your doorstep and unload the stuff you anticipated for a long time. You checked the list and confirm the number of packages. As soon as they left, you cannot wait any longer but started open the boxes. What a pleasant moment! But soon you became confused. “Something wrong!” You opened a box after another and your frustration grew bigger by finding out all the carefully packed and sealed boxes were opened and resealed. At first, you may think it was by customs and quarantine purpose, but soon after that you came to know it was not the case. You came to know that all the boxes were resealed halfheartedly. Surprisingly, all the packages were ransacked and many items you cherished were gone. The reseal was made with the corporate logo of DragonSea China.
Note: When we contact DragonSea China, we trusted them as we found their call center staff seemed pretty competent in their job, service, and customer needs. When they sent the packing staff (by air) and did the packing job, it was good enough to get additional confidence from the customer. The stealing was, highly likely, made by their warehouse staff in Guangzhou. When they ransack the packages, they really put the items back halfheartedly so many of smaller inner boxes were crushed and put upside down.
They took away, near new Damascus steel kitchen knife and sharpening stone that we bought at Harrods of London (they took away the largest kitchen knife from the 3 knives set in the original balsam wooden case. They also stole one statue of a Chinese imaginary animal we bought from a boutique souvenir shop in Sichuan. It was about half a meter high and pretty heavy (probably 7kgs?) made by molding stone powder. We found only the empty box.
They also took my military merit medal with my name was engraved. And plaques of achievement from my past jobs.
They also stole seven beautiful tea pots of Zisha and small tea table decorations that I have collected over a period of 10 years expatriate life in China (luckily??, I still have 22 pots with me).
They also took away 2 packs of premium Chinese tea.
They also tool away silver bracelet, pearl necklace, cat-eye stone pendant.
They also took away many items we bought from the countries we visited in the past. They were small in size but with lots of memories.
2. The second reason why you shouldn’t use DragonSea China
[THEY ARE DISHONEST]
When we place an order to DragonSea China, we negotiated. We negotiated and finalized the price. When their packing staff came to us and finished the packing, they spoke with confidence that the final volume (cubic meter) will be checked again and informed to us by their office in Guangzhou, but it should be well within 15 CBM upon his estimation from the long experience. The packages left to their warehouse and we flew out of China. They kept the packages for a long time (about two weeks in their warehouse). We tried to track and trace the shipment, but it was also a time to finalize the charge. DragonSea China surprised us by saying the volume of our stuff was 19.67 CBM, almost 20CBM. Of course we challenged, but their answer was they made 4 pallets, it is hard to believe the size of 4 pallets could be almost 5CBM! They demand full payment otherwise the stuff would not be shipped. Our hands were tied!
3. The third reason why you shouldn’t use DragonSea China
[THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS BUT THEIR OWN PROFIT]
After we raised the claim, all they did was delaying the reply and dragging the answers. DragonSea China responded halfheartedly and asked us to request compensation according to their claim protocol that allow RMB300 maximum for item, and RMB3,000 for whole damages. We asked DragonSea China customer service staff and quality team to report this issue to their top management as this is not a damage or loss during the handling but a crime, moral hazard, and a matter of business ethics. Their staff confirmed to us on the phone that this issue was reported and their top management would reply to us within two working days. I have never heard from them even after a month.
I thought about a legal action, but I chose not to do that because I cannot waste my time and efforts. Instead, for the justice, I decided to let people know this and avoid using DragonSea China to prevent them from similar experience of mine. |
