FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Queensland Government
•        Personal Hardship Assistance;
•        Essential Household Contents Grant;
•        Structural Assistance Grant.

•        Sport and Recreation Services Disaster Recovery Program assists the repair of sport and recreation infrastructure damaged by flooding. For more information, visit www.sportrec.qld.gov.au/Funding.aspx.

Australian Government
•        Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment of $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per child, go to www.centrelink.gov.au or call 180 2266.
•        Centrelink offers a Disaster Income Recovery Subsidy and a range of other payments and services to support people in an emergency or crisis, whether or not you are already a Centrelink customer. Visit www.centrelink.gov.au or call the Emergency Assistance Hotline on 180 2266.

Financial assistance for bank and credit union customers
A number of banks and credit unions are providing assistance to customers affected by flooding, such as relief packages and fee reductions or exemptions, including ANZ, Commonwealth, Members Equity, NAB, and Westpac. Contact individual banks.

Tax assistance
Flood victims in Queensland can get their tax payments deferred and refunds fast-tracked, see www.ato.gov.au for more. The ATO can also help with reconstructing tax records for individuals and businesses where documents have been destroyed. Call 1800 806 218 or go to www.ato.gov.au/businesses/conten ... ias=assistancevisit for this service.

Replacing important documents – fees waived
If, as a result of the floods, important certificates such as birth, death, marriage or change-of-name have been lost, you can apply for replacements free of charge. Apply at a courthouse, call 1300 366 430 or email BDM-mail@justice.qld.gov.au. Passport fees will also be waived for any valid passports lost, damaged or destroyed by the floods. Contact 131 232 or visit www.passports.gov.au.

Assistance from Main Roads and Transport
The Department of Transport and Main Roads has implemented the following assistance for residents and communities impacted by the floods:
•        Option for three, six or twelve month registration period with no surcharge;
•        Exemption from a fee for late payment of registration;
•        Option to extend dormant seasonal vehicle registration period up to two years;
•        Options for fodder transport;
•        Extension of time for certificates of inspection for heavy vehicles including public transport vehicles;
•        Free replacement of lost and/or damaged driver licences;
•        Options for lost or damaged Infringement Notices.

Free children’s books
Riverbend Books at Bulimba is offering free books to families whose children have lost their books in the floods. To obtain books, please email info@riverbendbooks.com.au with details of the children’s names, ages, address and interests so that books can be matched to the child as closely as possible.

Allconnex Water assistance
Allconnex is offering up to $100 off water consumption charges to customers whose properties were inundated by flood water, to assist with the clean up. (Allconnex Water provides water services in the Logan, Gold Coast & Redland council areas.)

Discounted software for NGOs in flood affected areas
DonorTec is now waiving all administration fee payments for Microsoft products requested by nonprofit organisations that have been affected by the floods, or are working directly with flood-affected individuals, families and communities. PSYCHOLOGICAL, COUNSELLING & OTHER SUPPORT

Counselling support
•        Kids Help Line - www.kidshelp.com.au or 1800 55 1800.
•        Beyond Blue - www.beyondblue.org.au or 1300 22 4636.
•        Lifeline -  www.lifeline.org.au or 13 11 14.
•        Mensline - call 1300 78 99 78 or visit www.menslineaus.org.au.
•        Psychiatrists / Psychologists - Better Access to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners through the Medicare Benefits Schedule initiative increases community access to mental health professionals and team-based mental health care through the Medicare subsidies. A referral through a General Practitioner is required.
•        The Australian Psychological Society (APS) has developed several resources to help parents and caregivers provide psychological support during these difficult times. 今天帮一个住在westlake的朋友去打扫打水淹没过的房屋的卫生,从他那里得知,他们家一共从联邦政府和州政府那里拿到9000Aud左右的补偿,2个大人2个小孩,他们家里进水1.5米。
