Did you know? If you have access to a full list of current Part 2 topics, you will find there are many topics that are very similar. For example, there are topics such as
1.A Successful Person
2.A Famous Foreign Person
3.A Person who Has an Interesting Job
4.An Intelligent Person
5.A Friend Not Seen for a Long Time
6.A Comic Actor
7.An Old Person (in your family)
All these topics have very similar, many the same, details you should include in your answer:
You should say
Who the person is
How you know (about) the person
What the person does or did
And explain why you think they are successful, intelligent, etc
If you choose to talk about a famous foreign comedian who is very successful and whom you consider intelligent as well as humourous, and maybe is a bit old, then you have topics 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and maybe 7 prepared with just one person. You might need to talk about someone else if the old person is stated as being “in your family”, such as your grandfather, but then, your gransfather could also be Intelligent and Successful, and the Friend you have not seen for a Long Time, he/she could also be Intelligent, Successful, and have an Interesting Job...
By combining similar topics like this, you can reduce the amount of research you need to do for the full list of 50 current topics. There are other categories, in which there are multiple topics, for example:
Places, Events and Celebrations, Buildings, Sports and Games, Things you have and use, Media (books, Films, Advertisements), and more.
Preparing these topics as a group, and combining your research efforts, you can save significant time, so that means you will have more time to practice actually Speaking, because that is crucial to your IELTS Speaking success – PRACTICE...
