Reporting to: Senior Electronics Engineer - Controls
Position purpose: To test and analyse control products as part of the process that ensures they are suitable for initial release and to improve the product once it is in production. Analysis of control field returns to determine the failure mode (ie what component has failed/method by which failure occurs) as required (ie not every control returned but those where there are unusual/many failures)
Involved in service calls to analyse and determine why controls are failing (eg instrumenting houses for data collection) - inc conditions required for failures to occur
Make and assemble PCBs, prototypes, test boards
Testing in accordance with test requests for the development of new controls, investigating problems to define accurately the conditions under which they occur. Also investigate to find the cause of the failure.
Testing proposed s/ware and h/ware design changes to ensure they are suitable for production
Perform tests to evaluate alternative design concepts developed by Brivis
Essential Competencies: Minimum of 5 years of electronic technician work. Advanced Certificate in Electronic Engineering (minimum). Ability (and understanding) to do EMC Conducted Emissions testing. Assist in the assembly of specialised production equipment as required (eg pcbs for EOL testers).
