Police operation in Sydney's Martin Place

Police operation is taking place in Martin Place Sydney

A police operation is underway in the heart of the Sydney's CBD.

Police have not confirmed the nature of the operation, but members of the public have been seen with their hands pressed up against the windows of a building.

An Islamic Flag has also been seen in the window.

One block of Martin Place has been cordoned off between Elizabeth Street and Phillip Street.

Several police vehicles are at the scene and one police officer has drawn his gun.
