3 Day National Park Safari
Departs Monday, Wednesday & Friday from Brisbane
Day1:
Sea Ferry cruise Moreton Bay Marine Park and arrive on Moreton Island's sandy white beaches. Travel by 4WD to the desert sandhills for an exhilarating sandboarding adventure. Take a short forest walk to the fresh waters of Blue Lagoon where you can relax, swim snorkel or simply take some photos. Outdoor fresh picnic lunch with cold drinks overlooking the surf beach. Travel on to Cape Moreton Lighthouse for great whale watching (in season), dolphin, turtle and the occasional shark spotting. After a healty evening meal, enjoy stories around the campfire, stargaze at Blue Lagoon or take a walk along the surf beach.
Day2:
Start with a tropical breakfast overlooking the ocean & Moreton Bay. Outdoor morning tea and on to famous Tangalooma Shipwrecks. Snorkel among the tropical fishes and look for dugong, dolphins and turtles before a fresh picnic lunch. Explore Honeymoon Bay and the Champagne Pools, body surf or board ride at Yellowpatch Beach. Relax on Tangalooma beach overlooking marine park. Board the ferry to return to Brisbane at Tangalooma Shipwrecks.
Day 3:
With a packed picnic lunch, beach drive to Mount Tempest - the highest stable sand mountain in the world. Oh what a feeling! Take in the views and continue south along the beach to the biggest of Moreton's sandhill for sandboarding at speed. 4WD to the southern wetland eelgrass fields and protected rookeries where migratory waders can be seens. Aboriginal midden sites and ancient campfire areas are explained by your eco guide. A day to relax island style with a full day touring the southern wetlands. Try island tucker and fresh sea clams.
