The next Australian federal election will elect members of the 44th Parliament of Australia. The election must be held by 30 November 2013 and will be called following the dissolution or expiry of the current Parliament as elected at the 2010 federal election. It is the first hung parliament since the 1940 federal election.

下一届(第44界)澳洲总理大选将于2012年11月30日举行,这是自1040年以来,第一次出现了两党旗鼓相当的状况下的选举。

They are both pretty useless.

But if I have to, I would pick Julia - the lesser of 2 evils.

I think we should get Penny Wong to become the next Labour PM candidate.

Abbot built his career on putting others down - he will always say what he dislikes, but never came up with constructive policies of his own.
Also, being right wing, he stands for tax cutting for the rich, tax increasing for the lower income families and LNP policies will have detrimental effects on public services.

Abbot talks a bit silly but in the other hand, he looks more honest to me, speaking of putting other down, let's not forget how Gillard became the labor leader and PM at the first stage.
The APS is way oversize and about time to give them a cut and save up some of our tax money. Besides Labor has not listened to the poll and stick with Gillard as their leader, and it's about time to give them a lessen.

So go Abbot!

Revenge voting would often come back and bite you in the behind.
Just look at the erosion of civil rights already happening in QLD. This is a prelude of what will happen if LNP win the federal election.
LNP, being right wing, would gravitate towards a white OZ policy. Deep down they are racists.

I get puzzled by the number of Chinese immigrants that consistently vote for conservative politicians, not only in OZ, but in the UK, USA etc, too. I guess it's money over liberty for the Chinese mentality...

回复 #10 katsura 的帖子

This is not a revenge voting from me but to choose a better between 2. Don't really see any big issues in QLD or NSW after Liberal took over so far. Liberal lead Australia for 10'years and I have to say they did a very good job in economy. I used to be a Labor supporter but I'm deeply disappointed by them these years. They always have internal issues and are inconsistant with their policies, I really doubt about their ability on ruling this country.

LNP got lucky and rode on the wave of the mining boom, and their trick is to hoard the tax revenue - by not spending on infrastructure and public services, it would appear they ran a good economy policy and had surplus thorough out their term.

But what good is it if the surplus does not benefit the general population? It's like someone hoarding his income and never spending any to enjoy life.

If you haven't experienced any changes after LNP took the state seats, it's because they haven't got to you yet - the LGBT population has already seen direct attacks on their civil rights.

Remember 'work choices'? I won;t be surprised LNP bring it back - gay? they can fire you because of that. Chinese? they can fire you without needing to give a reason? pregnant and want maternity leave? probably won't have a job left for ya when you come back.

Labor is the one benefited from the mining boom. Liberal has done very good job on saving up the money which gives Labor a wealthy government to spend and pass the GFC. There is nothing call job secure after GFC, if you are talented and skillful, you can get a job not matter who you are.

Liberal provided lots of support to small/mid size business, and that also created lots of job opportunities. after all, the condition of work environment is determined by the market demand rather than the law.  And if a company wanna sack you, trust me, they don't have to say because you are gay or Chinese, there is always a reason for it.
