My 2nd baby was born on 13/Jul. It's a boy, named Henry and his weight
was 3.3kg.
I feel delivery in Australia is better than in China, even my daughter
was born in a very good hopital in China. We selected to labour in
Ryde hospital because Ryde hospital is close to Epping. But this
hospital only has midwife, there is no obstetrician. If something
happened, the puerpera will be transferred to Royal North Shore
Hospital.
My midwife was a very nice woman who have had four babies. During the
course of my pregnancy, she has followed me in 1 to 1. When I went to
see her, she always spoke slowly and clearly, so in general I didn't
need an interpreter. If I should sign some documents, she would apply
the interpreter from government who could describe the details in the
documents to me. At the last inspection, I decided to labour in a
birthing pool. That means I can bear my baby in water.
Finally, the day came. Labour pains started in the morning. It was
about 1:30am. NiuBa called midwife at 5:30. But unfortunately my
midwife was off on the weekend. Another midwife was on duty. At 6am,
we arrived at Ryde hospital. There were two midwives and they had
already prepared the birthing pool. I started the delivery. I tried to
push again and again. 5 hours, I was exhausted. They helped me to
break the water. But the baby didn't come out. Then they decided to
transfer me to RNSH. In the 20 minutes on ambulance, I was really
painful. After I arrived at delivery room, the doctor inspected me and
the baby quickly. I had no strength to push but the doctor said I
could do it by myself. In Ryde hospital, the baby's position was not
very good. But by the jolt on the ambulance, the baby turned his body
to a good position for delivery. After many pains and pushes, the
baby's head came out. The midwife helped me to touch his head. This
gave me great strength. Soon his body came out. NiuBa cut the
umbilical cord. After a simple cleaning, they put the baby on my
breast. All the pains, worries, fatigues disappeared.
Because the water was green when the midwife broke the water, Henry
and I had to stay in RNHS for 24 hours in order to verify Henry's health. After
the doctor said everythig were OK, we went home. Now, Henry is 8 days.
He looks good. Eating, sleeping, weewee, poopoo are all his job.
