The Australian Government has developed a website,www.skilledmigrant.gov.au dedicated to helping you find a job in Australia.
By registering on www.skilledmigrant.gov.au, entering details of your occupation, education and qualifications and uploading your resume, you will be matched and notified of appropriate employment opportunities in Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) occupations.
Note to Migration Agents

Access to this website is limited to principal applicants in selected General Skilled Migration (GSM) categories and is not available to migration agents.
As many GSM applicants now use the service of a migration agent, some agents will receive email or postal correspondence about this service which is intended for the migrant, if the department cannot contact the person directly. If you receive this letter on behalf of your client, please forward it to the client as soon as possible.
This website is a free government service to eligible skilled migrants. Agents are reminded they should not charge clients when forwarding information about the service. Agents should note the objective of this website is that Australian employers can make direct contact with suitable migrant job seekers without the use of intermediaries.

You will need the following information to register on www.skilledmigrant.gov.au:
* your visa grant number
* your passport
* a current email address - if you do not have an email address please visit www.hotmail.com or www.yahoo.com to register for free
* all documentation relating to your education and trade qualifications, including the year your qualifications were obtained and the institution where you obtained the qualifications. You will have had your qualifications recognised by an Australian assessment body as part of your visa application. For further information on the recognition of overseas qualifications please visit www.aei.dest.gov.au or www.workplace.gov.au/tra
* An updated electronic resume or curriculum vitae (CV) saved in Rich TextFormat (RTF).
Please remember that www.skilledmigrant.gov.au is a new website and the number of job opportunities available through the website will increase over the coming months.
